GLOW Netflix - Ellen Wong Fortune Cookie Costume aka Jenny Chey

GLOW is a Netflix original series that stands for Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. The show takes us back to the 80’s with leg warmers, jumpsuits and Jane Fonda workout videos. Gender and racial stereotypes were very prevalent. The 12 ladies that were chosen to be wrestling together they were each asked to create a persona for themselves. Ellen Wong is the real life actress’s name, but she is Jenny Chey in GLOW. She was the asian girl in the group and was cast along with Ruth Wilder, Debbie Eagen and several more ladies. Jenny chose the asian stereotype and setup her introduction video as “Fortune Cookie”, which was really strange. Anyways, Ellen Wong dressed up like a Chinese lady and talked with a Chinese accent.
