Hunger Games is a trilogy by Suzanne Collins. The movie focuses around Katniss Everdeen who volunteers to be one of the tributes when her sister Primm is chosen. Every year the Capitol randomly selects one boy and girl each between ages of 12 and 18 from each of the twelve districts putting them against each other in a the game of survival. The districts are forced to fight each other to the death and there can be only one victor. During the 74th Hunger Games, Katniss broke the rules of the game when she and Peeta were last remaining players in the game. Katniss takes out some nightlock berries, which are poisonous and the two of them threaten to commit double suicide and there will be no winner. The Capitol saw this as an act of rebellion but in the end Peet and Katniss are both crowned victors of the 74th Hunger Games. Katniss and belongs to District 12.
