Game of Thrones is an epic show on HBO.  It was a book written by George R.R. Martin and it’s a fascinating plot with twists and turns.  Don’t get too attached to any character because they might be next to be killed, mutilated or tortured.  All the characters in the book/show are vying for the Iron Throne that rules over the Seven Kingdoms.   Currently Cersei Lannister is Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.  She’s from House Lannister but was married into House Baratheon.  Daenerys Targaryen of House Targaryen is Mother of Dragons and she has a good chance for the throne as well.  Then there’s the Stark siblings including Sansa, Arya, Jon Snow and Bran who are still alive and have a chance for the Throne.  Now that Jon Snow is King of the North and has started a relationship with Daenerys, he’s got a good chance as well.  Below are Game of Thrones party decorations, supplies and balloons.   You can also find Game of Thrones costumes here to dress up when you host or attend these GOT parties.

King Robert Baratheon was the King of the Seven Kingdoms in Game of Thrones.   He was first of his name and became King during the Roberts’ Rebellion.  He killed Rhaegar Targaryen, Prince of Dragonstone at the Battle of Trident.  He became King and married Cersei who became Queen Cersei.  They had three children and unbeknownst to Robert, the kids were actually fathered by Cersei’s twin brother – Jamie Lannister.  King Robert was killed from the scheming of his wife while he was out hunting.   You can find Cersei costumes, Jamie Lannister Costumes and King Joffrey Costume.  Below are costume ideas for King Robert Baratheon.

1. The Hound and Arya

Arya is the daughter of Eddard Stark and Catelyn Stark.  She weilds a sword given to her by her half brother Jon Snow.  She named her sword, because every sword needs a name, needle.    Her first interaction with The Hound is when The Hound murders her friend Mycah.  She vows to kill him.  Later in the show, The Hound captures Arya and wants to sell to her Aunt Lysa Arryn in the Eyrie.  This is a great costume idea for an adult and a kid.  Click here for costume idea for The Hound and here for Ayra.

2.  Cersei Lannister and King Robert Baratheon

3.  Jamie and Cersei Lannister

4.  Petyr Baelish and Sansa Stark

Petyr Baelish also known as Littlefinger served as Master of Coin to King Robert Baratheon.   They have a complicated relationship as Petyr Bealish loves Sansa’s mother Catelyn.  Later in the Game of Thrones, Sansa is married to Tyrion Lannister.  When Tyrion is accused of murdering King Joffrey Baratheon, Petyr Baelish takes her to his holdings on The Fingers disguised as his illegitimate daughter.  This is a great costume for two people.  Click here for costume idea for Petyr Baelish and here for Sansa Stark.

5.  Khal Drogo and Daenerys Targaryen

Daenerys Targaryen’s brother Viserys longs to sit on the Iron Throne.  He barters a deal with the Dothraki Warlord to get 10,000 men and in return for marriage with his sister – Daenerys.  Daenerys doesn’t want to marry Khal Drogo, but Viserys says that she will and will make her sleep with all of Drogo’s 40,000 men and their horses if that’s what it takes to get the armies.   Daenerys eventually grows to love and please Khal Drogo.  This is a great costume idea for a couple.  Click here for costume ideas for Khal Drogo and here for Daenerys Targaryen.

6.  Daenerys Targaryen and Dragons

When Khal Drogo and Daenerys Targaryen marry, she received three dragon eggs from Illyrio.  When her husband died, she burned Khal Drogo’s body on a pyre.  She brought in her three dragon eggs into the burning pyre.   The next morning she emerged alive with her three dragons hatched.  She has hence forth been named as Mother of Dragons.  She has named her dragons Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion.  Click here for costume ideas for Daenerys Targaryen and click here for costume ideas for dragons.

7.  Jon Snow and Ygritte

Ygritte was Jon Snow’s lover.  She was a fierce, courageous and quick witted woman who was of the Free Folk who lived North of the wall in Game of Thrones.   She was captured by Jon Snow, escapes but is captured again by Snow.   Lots of things happen between the two but they love each other in the end.   In the end, Jon Snow watches Ygritte killed by Olly.  Jon Snow builds a funeral pyre for Ygritte before a weirwood tree.   Since they are getting married in real life.  This is a great idea for Game of Thrones Couple Costumes. 8.  Jon Snow and Ghost

When Eddard Stark came upon six direwolf pups and their deseased mother, Robb Stark decided to allow each Stark kid to adopt a direwolf.  Jon Snow took the white albino wolf with red eyes and named him Ghost.   Ghost was the runt of the litter but grew as large as his siblings.   Ghost follows his master Jon Snow and the rest of the Night’s Watch as they venture deep into wildling territory in their Great Ranging.  Find Ghost Direwolf costume and Jon Snow‘s pro costume.

Cersei Lannister was married to King Robert Baratheon.  She was known as Queen Cersei.    Her father is Lord Tywin Lannister of Casterly Rock, head of the House of Lannister, known as the richest man in the Seven Kingdoms and Lord Paramount of the Westerlands.  Cersei has a twin brother – Jaime Lannister and a younger brother Tyrion Lannister.  Her father Lord Tyrion and Cersei hate Tyrion’s guts because their mother died giving birth to him and he’s also an imp.  They resent his existence and take every chance to make hateful comments to him and try to get him killed.  Cersei and Jaime have an incestuous relationship which continues even after she is married to King Robert.  Cersei has three children that all are fair skin and blond hair which is believed to be conceived from a result of their incestuous relationship.  The children’s’ names are Joffrey, Myrcella and Tommen.   Cersei is a dominant character in all Game of Thrones seasons.

Cersei is willful, bold, cold, cunning, dominant, always want to get what she wants, will never back down, impatient, impulsive, irrational and manipulative.  She rules through fear and looks down on other who are not on the same royal status as her.

King Robert and Queen Cersei visit Winterfell.  Many things happen including asking Ned Stark to become Hand of the King.  Another important scene is when Bran Stark, who loves to climb things, accidentally comes across Cersei and her brother engaged in sexual intercourse.   Cersei panics and tells Jaime he has to do something.  Jaime grabs onto the boy, asks him how old he is and pushes Bran out the window.

Ned Stark find outs about Cersei’s relationship with her brother and threatens to tell the King.  While the King was out on a hunting trip, he is mortally wounded.  Queen Cersei is concerned that Ned Stark will reveal the truth but Ned chooses to spare his friend more pain.

Cersei quickly injects her son Joffrey as the new King of the Seven Kingdoms and declares Ned Stark a traitor.  King Joffrey orders Ned Stark to be executed and forces Sansa Stark to watch while this happens.   All in the meantime, she keeps it in the family and starts a new relationship with her cousin Lancel.   Lancel was King Robert’s squire who gave him wine when they went hunting.  The wine made him too drunk to kill the boar that gave the King the mortal wound.

She is named Queen Regent while her son, King Joffrey, ruled the Seven Kingdoms.  After Joffrey died, she had Tommen become the new King.

Joffrey Baratheon is a fictional character in Game of Thrones.  King Joffrey Baratheon is the eldest son to Queen Cersei Lannister and King Robert Baratheon.   He is actually the bastard son of the incestuous relationship between Cersei and her twin brother Ser Jaime Lannister.  After King Robert Baratheon died, Joffrey claimed the throne and ruled over the Seven Kingdoms.   He declared Ed Stark a traitor and had him beheaded for treason.  Joffrey was supposed to wed Sansa Stark but after becoming King he tortured and mentally manipulated Sansa forcing her to eventually wed Tyrion Lannister and himself married Margaery Tyrell.

At his wedding, he makes Tyrion fetch him his wine goblet.  After taking a sip from his goblet, he dies from poison.  Cersei Lannister accuses her brother, Tyrion of assassinating the King and puts him into prison.  Meanwhile his wife, Sansa stark is whisked away onto a boat to escape the same fate.  To her surprise, Petyr Baelish is waiting on the boat and they head to Lysa Arryn – House of Tully for refuge.   The actual perpetrators behind the assassination are Lord Petyr Baelish and Olenna Tyrell.  You can click here to find costumes to dress up as Joffrey’s mom – Cersei Lannister and father – King Robert Baratheon, or his real father Jamie Lannister.
